How to Make Beet Kvass
You will need:

  • 2-3 coarsely chopped beets
  • 1/4 cup whey
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • Water


  1. Combine beets, whey, and salt in a quart jar and fill with water. Shake it up to mix ingredients.
  2. Sit on counter at room temperature for 48 hours. Strain the beets out, and move remaining liquid to your refrigerator.
  3. You can discard beets or use them again for a second batch, but be aware that the second batch will not taste as strong.
